COLONEL CHRISTOPHER M. ZIDEK

Col. Christopher M. Zidek is the Commander of the 413th Flight Test Group, an Air Force Reserve unit located at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. The 413th FTG is a multi-role organization which provides oversight of nine geographically separated units and several distinct missions which include aircraft depot-level functional and acceptance check flights, developmental and operational test and evaluation, cyber test, Federal Aviation Administration combat flight inspection, aeromedical staging, and force support functions.

Col. Zidek is a native of San Diego, Calif., and received his commission in 1996 through the Air Force ROTC program at San Diego State University. He is a master navigator with more than 2,500 flying hours in the KC-135R and has served in a variety of flying units in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve, including operational, training and flight test operations. He has flown combat missions in support of operation Enduring Freedom, Allied Force, Northern and Southern Watch. He also serves as an Air Force One advance agent, responsible for planning and executing presidential movements, worldwide. Prior to his current assignment, Col. Zidek served as the deputy division chief, Transregional Threats Coordination Cell (T2C2), J5, the Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
